Background: Dr. Firpo Carr debated against at least 5 other panelists who suggest that homosexuality is indeed genetic. His book, Are Gays Really "Gay"?--A Sociological, Scientific, and Theological Analysis, states, among other things, that homosexuality is not genetic. Dr. Carr is straight while all the other panelists are gay or lesbian psychologists, pastors, and university professors to name a few. It was "Gay Pride" day so the station arranged to have a live, quasi-outdoor broadcast. A mostly gay crowd gathered around to ask questions and cheer on the other panelists.

Carr debated with Cleo Manago, who heads an organization of "same-gender-loving" (homosexual) Black men, on the subject of homosexuality in the Black community. Due to tecnical difficulties, callers could not be heard. This particular edition of Tuesday Live! was completely dedicated to callers who could not get through last Tuesday, June 30, 1998.
